Common questions

How do I build a lineup?
Add your players in the roster (top right of the Lineup screen) and turn on the positions each one can play. Then tap Auto-fill, tick off who's at today's game, and Sub Coach builds a rotation with even playing time and as few in-and-out changes as possible. Tap any square to change it by hand.

How do the substitution alerts work?
Tap Start game, then Kick off when the referee starts the half. Sub Coach shows a countdown to each substitution, alerts you when it's time, and lists who goes in and out. With notifications allowed, the alerts and a lock screen countdown keep working with your phone in your pocket.

The game clock doesn't match the referee's.
In Game Day, use the menu at the top right to add or take off time, or to end the half early.

How do I share my roster with my assistant coaches?
Have them open Sub Coach while standing near you. Open your roster and tap Share. They'll be asked to accept it. This uses Bluetooth, so allow Bluetooth when asked.

Can other coaches follow the game on their phones?
Yes. In Game Day, tap the broadcast button at the top right. Coaches nearby with Sub Coach open are asked if they want to follow. They get the same substitution alerts and lock screen countdown, and only you can run the clock.

Can I plan for different team sizes or formations?
Yes. At the bottom of the Lineup screen, set the players on the field (4 to 11), half length, periods per half and formation.
